Managing Mild to Moderate Symptoms of Nausea and Vomiting of Pregancy
a Eat frequently in small amounts; try scheduling regular, frequent eating times even if not hungry; try to eat 5 or 6 small meals daily

high carbohydrate, low-fat foods as they are more easily digested; they also prevent low blood sugar, provide needed nutrients and help avoid stomach distension which may trigger vomiting
a Eat protein predominant

a Eat a bland, dry diet;
try potato chips or
crackers
q Eat something as soon as you feel hungry; try to avoid an empty stomach;
keep crackers at your bedside
a Drink
small amounts of cold, clear, carbonated or sour liquids (lemonade); and drink between meals rather than with

herbal teas containing mint or orange as they may help with digestion; ginger may also be of benefit
q Lie down
as needed; get plenty of rest

Change positions slowly, especially when rising
q Go outside for fresh air as needed

Suggestions for treatment of nausea in pregnancy
25 mg Vitamin B6 taken
one to three times daily, plus Unisom 1/2 tablet taken at bedtime or twice daily. These
medications are both available over the counter.
Relief Band: a device worn
like a watch that emits electric current (this is not
the same thing as Sea Bands). Should available at CVS, Rite-Aid, Longs (according to their website).
